Linares, pueblo mágico
Illustrations for political campaign
Gerardo de la Garza García was a candidate for mayor of Linares, Nuevo León during the elections of 2018. Commited to the development of his town, the contender sought to highlight his proposals and his interest in the people of Linares in an accessible and modern way.
For this campaign, one of the project manager’s first proposals was to make an animated infographic with a geometric illustration style, vibrant colors and texture that highlighted the different landmarks of the town with a fresh approach.
Taking into account her ideas, I started by illustrating each of the locations individually and then arranged them into a single composition. While working on the infographic, it was also important to highlight the colors of the political party of the candidate. In this case it meant emphasizing reds and greens while limiting the use of blues.
Once the artwork was ready the animation team added subtle movements to draw attention to each landmark without being overwhelming.
Afterwards, we decided to maintain the same illustration approach for the different contents for the political campaign.
